Dr. Prratyush More is a dermatologist practising in Thane West. Training in Israel under Dr. Alex Ginzburg
In 2018, Dr. More travelled to Israel to train under Dr. Alex Ginzburg in hair loss treatment and hair transplant surgery. The training was clinical and surgical, and covered:
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique: — punch selection, extraction depth and angle, and implantation methodology
Hairline design: — the principles of angle, direction, density gradation and deliberate irregularity that distinguish a natural frontal hairline from a uniform one
Graft handling and survival: — extraction-to-implantation intervals, holding solutions, temperature control and atraumatic handling technique
Donor area management: — extraction patterns that preserve donor density and keep future sessions possible
Medical evaluation of hair loss: — clinical differentiation of androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, cicatricial alopecias and female pattern hair loss, before surgery is considered
Long-term surgical planning: — accounting for the progressive nature of pattern hair loss when placing a finite donor supply
Why this training shapes the practice. Hair transplantation permanently redistributes a donor supply that cannot be replenished. Decisions taken at a first surgery — where the hairline is placed, how grafts are distributed, which zones are prioritised, how the donor area is harvested — constrain everything possible afterwards. These are matters of surgical judgement and planning rather than of equipment, and they are what the training in Israel was directed at.It also shapes what is not offered. Patients whose hair loss is unstable, whose donor density is insufficient, or whose diagnosis is a scarring or autoimmune alopecia are advised against surgery rather than scheduled for it.
